Quiet Nights (Bonus Tracks)
Miles Davis
Released:
Sep 1997
Label:
Columbia/Legacy
Considered a dismal failure in 1962, this final collaboration with Gil Evans sounds better today. It's still a hodgepodge of half-finished ideas, but half an idea from Miles and Evans is still worth multiple listens. Highlights include the title track and a lovely reading of Legrand's "Once Upon a Summertime." "Summer Night," with Victor Feldman, is a flat out beauty.
