Creatures of the Street, Jobriath's second full-length, originally released to an utterly indifferent pop marketplace in 1974, is one of the most over-the-top productions in all of rock history. Using Ziggy Stardust-era David Bowie as his launching pad, Jobriath creates a lavishly cosmic opera that should have been turned into an epic Broadway musical. Creatures of the Street is far less guitar-driven than Jobriath's self-titled debut. In fact, most of the album is soaked in bombastic symphonic arrangements and a rotating chorus of female singers. It's a breathtaking listen for sure.
