Mirrorball: Live & More
Def Leppard
Released:
Jun 2011
Label:
Bludgeon Riffola/Mailboat Records
In three decades, this is the closest Def Lep have come to a live album, though it ends with three new studio tracks, any of which (Diddley-beat "Undefeated," Queen-choraled "Kings of the World," love-schmaltz "It's All About Believin'") might double as soccer-match inspiration. Otherwise, Lep do the smash hits and then some: shortening "Rocket," lengthening most everything else, proving "Make Love Like a Man" was a Shania Twain template, covering Sweet exuberantly and David Essex experimentally, overemphasizing their post-Hysteria middle age, and underemphasizing their NWOBHM early days.
