With a pair of albums under their belts, Bristol, Virginia's Dixie Bee-Liners have quickly become one of Appalachia's hottest bluegrass acts. They're even regulars at the Carter Family Fold, a legendary performance space in Poor Valley. Much like the Steeldrivers and Cherryholmes, the Bee-Liners specialize in acoustic music that's more urgent than reflective and tender. On tracks like "Restless" and "Heavy," singer Brandi Hart sounds downright sultry, which is a unique flavor for bluegrass.
