Biography

Since the early 1990s, wife-and-husband duo Pamela and Randy Copus have been crafting lush, dreamy contemporary instrumental music steeped in ancient mythology and esoteric mysticism. They've released 12 albums and counting, all of which have climbed the peaks of Billboard's New Age charts. Both Pamela and Randy are well-studied multi-instrumentalists. Before they teamed up, Randy (who is also an accomplished sound engineer and producer) studied voice, guitar, piano, keyboards, trumpet, tuba and guitar; Pamela, meanwhile, studied keyboards, flute, piccolo, oboe, guitar, violin and the bagpipes. These myriad instruments and skills are put to good use when the Copuses record at their Texas studio. There, the duo has developed a highly meticulous -- as well as time-consuming -- process to produce their music, most of which boasts a near-infinite number of layers, overdubs and effects. As for that spiritual stuff mentioned above, like most New Age artists, the Copuses' music is a true religious fusion. Its foundation is a sacred stew of chants culled from Sanskrit, Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity and more. Oh, and by the way, for all you newbies, "2002" is code for … infinity.
