Breathe Carolina

Blending emo and synth-pop, Denver's Breathe Carolina are part of a wave of similar young bands to emerge in the late '00s. Recording songs at home with GarageBand, the duo debuted its music on MySpace in 2007 and enjoyed a spectacularly rapid ascent, racking up 13 million page views by the end of 2009. Bolstered by key slots on the Warped Tour and shows with the likes of Brokencyde, the group followed up its 2008 debut, It's Classy, Not Classic, with 2009's Hello Fascination. Combining metal drums and guitars with dance beats and trance keyboards, and offsetting screamo growl with Auto-Tuned croon, it's a giddy tribute to annoying one's elders.
