Gold Panda

Gold Panda is Derwin Panda, a British producer of lush, colorful electronica. Like Caribou and Four Tet, his music draws from house, techno, musique concrete, psychedelic pop and the outer limits of dubstep, with sampled percussion, synths and bells commingling into a gentle riot of jewel tones. That he lived in Japan and studied Asian culture might not be surprising, given his moniker and the chiming bell tones he favors. Gold Panda first emerged in 2009 with an EP for Various Production's label; he returned in 2010 with a trio of EPs and his debut album, Lucky Shiner, for Ghostly International.
