Biography

After the demise of much-overlooked folk rock outfit Original Brothers and Sisters of Love, Michigan's Great Lakes Myth Society was founded in 2004. Much like the former group, the songs were mostly written and sung by brothers Tim and James Monger, who were joined by guitarist Gregory McIntosh bassist Scott McClintock and drummer and Fido Kennington. Their eponymous debut of self-described "Northern Rock" appeared in April 2005 on the Boston's Stop, Pop & Roll label, and soon charted on CMJ's Top 200. The band toured extensively before recording Compass Rose Bouquet, which was issued on Michigan-based multi-media conglomerate company Quack!Media (which publishes Found magazine) in the summer of 2007.
