Out of all the twangy troubadours treading in the tracks of Uncle Tupelo, Jim White gets the award for pushing pastoral Americana the furthest from its traditional boundaries. His third album has a wordy title, but the music is sparse and lovelorn, if not somewhat groovy (especially when he's singing about combing his hair).
