Biography
Memphis native K. Michelle credits her hometown with giving her the toughness to succeed in the music business, and though her career is still very young, she has certainly proven to be both tenacious and versatile. In her 24 short years, the young artist has been both a music major and a biology major, a beauty queen, the singer for an orchestra during its tour of Asia, and a cubicle grunt with a sales job. She's also a single mom, a gutsy performer who moved to Atlanta with the goal of securing a record deal, and a singer with the chops to wow execs at Jive. Is it any wonder her first single is called "Self Made"? Her debut album, Pain Medicine (including the Missy Elliott-featuring track "Fakin' It"), drops on Jive in fall 2010.
