This early Miles Davis set compiles two EPs from the 1950s. The first four cuts feature Al Cohn tunes (Cohn doubles on tenor, along with Zoot Sims), while the next four match Davis with Sonny Rollins and Benny Green. The rhythm section on both sets is three-quarters of the MJQ, making this a good illustration of how cool jazz came out of be-bop.
