Reggae is often a particular taste: you either really like it or you really don't. Mitch seems keenly aware of this, and he's set out to correct any misconceptions about his genre by layering Original Yard Man with an impressively eclectic array of sounds and styles. The crooner has a voice like smooth gold that slides easily into classical-infused hip-hop ("Follow Me"), heartfelt acoustic balladry ("Fall From Grace") and plenty of dancehall of both the ultra-mellow and danceably hot variety. The number of famous fans featured as guests suggest that Mitch is on the right track.
