The OF Tape Vol. 2 (Explicit)
Odd Future
Released:
Mar 2012
Label:
Odd Future
Odd Future's ethos as suburban kids gone wild no longer shocks: They've even developed a Cartoon Network show around it. So while they stuff The O.F. Tape Vol. 2 full of raging hormones, they wisely avoid the taboo-breaking that made them the most controversial group of 2011, save for exceptions like Hodgy Beats' caveman grunts on "Real B*tch." It's chaotically sequenced like a Three 6 Mafia album, and has few memorable songs, but impresses with a sarcastic tone, impassioned (yet specious) claims of being industry outsiders on "P" and "Oldie," and healthy servings of machismo.
