Suzy Bogguss

Suzy Bogguss is one of the few female country artists who has successfully (in artistic and commercial terms) blended old-timey Americana with commercial Country Pop music to become one of the most applauded and prominent female country singers of the late 20th century. Her wild mountain, honey-coated vocals resiliently croon and yodel melodies and harmonies from another space and time. Her 1991 album Aces went gold, but it was with her following album, Voices in the Wind, that Bogguss emerged as a strong Singer-Songwriter with heartfelt lyrics nearly as good as those of Kris Kristofferson. Some folks think that she channels Patsy Cline, while others just say, "Damn, she's good."
