Their first album isn't exactly flawless. The Kinks were a pop group with amazing songs, so their earliest R&B-inspired material shows more passion than anything else. Their Chuck Berry covers and beat-pop blues show they were certainly hip, but it's the original tracks like "You Really Got Me," "Stop Your Sobbing" and "I Took My Baby Home" that stand up best.
