TOM PETTY AND THE HEARTBREAKERS MCA CATALOG TO BE FEATURED EXCLUSIVELY ON NAPSTER


LOS ANGELES, CA - (January 12, 2004) - Napster®, a division of Roxio (Nasdaq: ROXI), announced that starting tomorrow, members of the Napster service will gain exclusive access to some of Tom Petty’s best-selling works, including "Damn the Torpedoes", "Full Moon Fever" and "Into the Great Wide Open", and hit singles like ""Don't Do Me Like That", "Free Fallin'" and "Refugee". The catalog which comes from Universal Music Group, will be available for streaming, album and individual song burning and transfer to portable devices to Napster’s Basic and Premium members, who already choose from over 500,000 tracks, the largest catalog of music available online.

This content increases Napster’s extensive catalog of exclusive music, which currently features music from artists like R.E.M., Mick Jagger and Puddle of Mudd as well as songs that have been recorded exclusively for Napster in Napster’s Los Angeles recording studio by artists like Rufus Wainwright, Guided By Voices, Brian McKnight and The Raveonettes. Tom Petty’s catalog will be featured exclusively on Napster for the next two weeks, after which time it will remain a permanent feature of Napster’s collection.
