NAPSTER HEADS NORTH TO CANADA
First On-Demand Subscription Service in Country Will Be Available This Summer

LOS ANGELES, CA (May 4, 2004) - Napster, a division of Roxio, Inc. (Nasdaq: ROXI), announced that this summer, Napster 2.0 digital music service will become the first on-demand subscription service available to Canadian music fans. Napster will offer Canadian consumers a localized version of Napster 2.0, complete with Canadian-specific radio stations, promotions and content from domestic acts. Just like U.S. members of Napster, Canadian members will have the choice of subscribing to Napster and enjoying unlimited access to hundreds of thousands of tracks for a low monthly fee or visiting Napster Light to hear 30-second clips and purchase tracks and albums a la carte.

"Napster has long-recognized the huge demand for a compelling, legitimate music experience among our Canadian neighbors," said Chris Gorog, chairman and CEO Roxio, Napster's parent company. "We are extremely pleased to respond to this demand by bringing the first on-demand subscription service and the biggest brand in online music to Canada."

Napster 2.0 offers consumers a superior, legitimate online music experience with more music and features than any other service. It creates an immersive community where users can quickly search for music, discover artists, rip and burn CDs and transfer music to over 60 different portable devices, share tracks and playlists with other members and friends and access decades of Billboard chart information, exclusive and original content, interactive radio and music videos.

Roxio, Napster's parent company, maintains an office in Richmond Hill, Ontario that will serve as the Canadian headquarters for the service. Local Canadian Napster personnel are on board to ensure the service is truly Canadian, in tune with the Canadian audience and leverages the country's diverse music and culture, however, for the near term, Napster's U.S. executive team will be primarily responsible for the service's operations in Canada.
