40 years of The Official Chart Show Company’s UK singles charts and live session from
MOBO winner Estelle
LONDON - (November 5, 2004) - Napster UK, Ltd. a subsidiary of Roxio, Inc.
(Nasdaq: ROXI), has appointed Charlie Phillips as music manager, with immediate
effect. Based at the company’s UK headquarters in London’s Mortimer Street, Phillips

the company from the Capital Radio Group where he was head of music at Capital Disney.
The appointment of Charlie Phillips follows a series of major programming exclusives
on the Napster online music service, including The Official UK Charts Company singles
charts dating back to 1960, Napster Live sessions from Liberty X and MOBO winner Estelle,
guest programme directors The Kings of Leon and The Cure, and artist programmed,
advert-free radio stations such as Groove Armada’s The Cooler and Eminem’s Shady Radio.
"As well as having a proven track record managing and prioritising music content, Charlie
Phillips is first and foremost a huge music fan like everyone at Napster," said Jeff Smith.

helped secure us some fantastic repertoire since launching in May. With Charlie in place we
look forward to maintaining this momentum."
"Great content is the lifeblood of Napster and Charlie will help ensure we continue to offer
the very best new and exclusive material as part of the most extensive music catalogue
available anywhere online," added Leanne Sharman, Napster VP & UK general manager.
Before joining Napster, Charlie Phillips was head of music at Capital Disney where his
responsibilities included setting playlists, rights ownership, artist liaison, and digital
content management for Capital’s DAB stations. Before that he was radio manager for Capital’s
internet radio stations. After leaving Oxford University with an MA in Egyptology, Phillips
began his career as a sound engineer at H20 studios where he worked with a number of leading
UK acts, including Radiohead.
