NAPSTER APPOINTS CHRISTOPHER MOISAN AS STRATEGIC MARKETING DIRECTOR
New hire coincides with major UK marketing push from Napster, including above-the-line advertising and partnership deals
Jeff Smith and Adam Howorth also promoted to international roles within Napster’s music programming and communication departments
LONDON - (July 1, 2005) - Napster (NASDAQ: NAPS), the biggest brand in digital music, has appointed Christopher Moisan as strategic marketing director and promoted Jeff Smith and Adam Howorth from domestic roles to international positions within Napster’s music programming and communications departments. Based at the company’s UK headquarters in London’s Mortimer Street, Moisan will be responsible for all aspects of Napster’s marketing strategy and reports directly to Napster VP & UK general manager, Leanne Sharman. Smith and Howorth remain in the London office and continue to report to Sharman as international programming director and European communications director, respectively.
The appointment of Christopher Moisan follows a six-month consultancy role at Napster where he oversaw the successful implementation of the company’s current advertising campaign, running across national press, radio and television, London Underground, music and lifestyle magazines. As strategic marketing director, Moisan will also drive commercial partnerships and direct the activities of Napster’s advertising and media buying agencies: Drugstore, MediaEdge:CIA and its online arm, Outrider.
“Chris has proven subscription marketing skills within a high profile media brand which makes him a hugely valuable addition to the Napster UK team,” said Leanne Sharman. “Our core business is online music subscription and his experience of developing and implementing both offline and online customer acquisition strategies and effective retention practices will prove invaluable in helping boost further the Napster subscriber base.”
Christopher Moisan joins Napster from Guardian Newspapers Limited, where he was head of strategic planning and business development for Guardian Unlimited. While at the Guardian, Moisan successfully devised and launched a number of online subscription services and mobile products.

Christopher Moisan has over 11 years marketing and commercial experience. As head of strategic planning and business development for Guardian Unlimited he was responsible for all non-advertising revenue, achieving significant revenue growth and winning numerous awards. Prior to joining the Guardian, Moisan secured venture capital finding and founded his own B2B networking company. Moisan has also worked for Ogilvy and Mather, where he was a founder member of Ogilvy Interactive, and also has extensive experience in telecommunications sector.
